Compressed Air Dryers

Products • Compressed Air Dryers

We are one of the reputed Desiccant Compressed Air Dryers Manufacturers and Suppliers in India. Leveraging on our sophisticated research and development unit we are able to fabricate optimum quality Compressed Air Dryers that are very popular due to their distinguishing characteristics. Offering trouble free operation with enhanced performance and simplicity, the industrial dryers offered by us successfully removes all the moisture and oil droplets from the compressed air and gives you bone dry and compressed air.

WHY DRY AIR
Air from compressor has excessive moisture and contaminants. The schematic below shows compressed air drying units which provide clean and dry air after removing these damaging impurities.

When compressed to 7Kg/cm²g, the temperature of discharge air reaches 140°C. The after cooler and separator installed after the compressor will cool the air, remove the moisture and oil. For instance, when the compressor takes in 100³NM/hr of ambient air at 40°C. and 50% relative humidity, at 7Kg/cm²g the after cooler will condense an average of 30 liters of water in 24 hours. If the outlet air from the after cooler is 40°C., it still contains 8000 ppm moisture. At 45°C, compressed air contains 10,500 ppm, at 50°C., 13,500ppm moisture and at 60°C, 21,600 ppm moisture. Therefore, lower the temperature of air dryer inlet, smaller would be the size of Air Drying unit.

PRE COOLER
Pre cooler is very essential to cool the temperature down to a level of 40°C if compressed air temperature is higher than 40°C. This cooling is achieved in a shell & tube type heat exchanger using cooling water. Due to this cooling some moisture condenses out which is then removed in a moisture separator. This precooler helps in keeping the moisture load low on air dryer and thus result in better dew-point performance.

DEW POINT SELECTION
"Dew Point is the measure of moisture in air. It is the temperature at which moisture present in the air, starts condensing. Lower the Dew Point, more dry is the air".

Air of (-) 40°C. Dew Point means no moisture would condense unless temperature of the compressed air is reduced less than (-) 40°C. For most industrial applications, Dew Point of around (-)10°C. Is considered quite satisfactory. However, as a common industrial practice most of the Compressed Air Dryers or Air Drying Units are rated for (-)40°C. Dew Point. Lower the Dew Point, higher would be the operating cost of Air Dryer. Hence proper selection of Dew Point is very important for economical operation of the unit.

Dew Point At Atmospheric PressureMoisture Content
0°C.3800ppm
(-) 5°C.2500ppm
(-) 10°C.1600ppm
(-) 20°C.685ppm
(-) 30°C.234ppm
(-) 40°C.80ppm
(-) 60°C.6.5ppm
(-) 80°C.0.3ppm

OIL FILTER

Oil present in compressed air is detrimental to the desiccant. If not removed, it gets coated on the desiccant and reduces moisture absorption capacity resulting in frequent replacement of desiccant. Therefore if the compressor is oil lubricated type, an oil filter before the air dryer is a must. This oil filter has activated carbon which removes oil from the air completely and thus enhances the life of desiccant in the air dryers.

THE IDEAL COMPRESSED AIR DRYERS / AIR DRYING UNITS
For the best performance of Air Drying Units, the air inlet temperature to the Dryer should be 40°C. Maximum. Therefore it is strongly recommended that efficient compressor after Cooler and moisture separator be installed before the Air Dryer.
